UPTAC Counselling 2025

Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) 2025 is a centralized counselling for admission in technical courses, consisting of undergraduate and postgraduate level at constituent technical institutions of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. According to the Central Admission Board (CAB) rule, UPTAC ensures equal and impartial opportunity to all students in the state of Uttar Pradesh in the professional courses of B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Pharm, MBA, MCA and so on.

UPTAC Counselling 2025 is open to candidates who Have qualified JEE Main 2025 (for B.Tech), CUET UG/PG 2025 (for B.Pharm, MCA, MBA, etc.), or other specified entrance exams. The counselling takes place in a series of rounds (R1, R2, R3, R4) during which an additional Internal Sliding (R5) and Special Rounds (R6) is also conducted to decide on the final seat allotment. The counselling is exclusively online, and candidates must register through the official portal https://uptac.admissions.nic.in. 

Admissions are offered based on national-level entrance exams like JEE Main, CUET (UG/PG), NATA, and other qualifying criteria. Special provisions exist for lateral entry admissions, management quota seats, and reservations for U.P. domicile candidates.

Online Registration Process for UPTAC B.Tech Admission 2025

Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech courses under UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling) must complete the online registration process through the official website (https://uptac.admissions.nic.in). Below are the steps to register successfully,

Visit the Official Website

• Go to https://uptac.admissions.nic.in.
• Click on the “B.Tech Counselling Registration” link available on the homepage.

Registration & Login

• Click on “New Registration” and read the instructions carefully before proceeding.
• Enter details such as JEE Main 2025 Application Number, Candidate’s Name (as per JEE Main records), Date of Birth, Mobile Number & Email ID (for OTP verification).
• Create a strong password and submit the form.
• Use the Application Number and Password to log in.

Fill the Online Application Form

Enter personal details (Name, Father’s & Mother’s Name, Category, Gender, etc.).

Provide educational qualifications (10th & 12th board details, JEE Main 2025 rank & score).

Upload the required documents:

• Recent passport-size photograph
• Scanned signature
• JEE Main 2025 scorecard
• Category certificate (if applicable)

Payment of Registration Fee

Seat Allotment & Reporting

UPTAC Counselling for B.Tech Admission 2025-26

The counselling process follows a structured series of steps, ensuring a transparent and merit-based admission system. Below is a detailed explanation of each stage of the UPTAC 2024 Counselling Process.

1. Registration and Document Upload

• Registration is mandatory for all new candidates in Round 1 and the Special Round (Round 6).
• Candidates who wish to participate in subsequent rounds will not need to re-register.

Document Verification

• A Centralized Document Verification Committee will verify the uploaded documents.
• Candidates must ensure that all documents are clear and valid to avoid rejection.
• If discrepancies are found, the candidate will be notified to upload correct documents within a given time frame.

Verification Confirmation via SMS/Email

• Once the verification process is successful, candidates will receive a confirmation message via SMS/email.
• Candidates cannot proceed with choice filling unless their documents are verified.

Choice Filling

• After verification, candidates must log in to their account and fill in their preferred course and college choices in order of priority.
• Candidates should refer to previous year cutoffs to make informed decisions.
• More choices increase the chances of getting a seat.

Important Points: Choices can be modified until the locking deadline. If a candidate fails to lock choices, the system will automatically lock the last saved preferences. Choice filling is mandatory in each round for seat allotment.

Seat Allotment Announcement

• Seats are allotted based on Merit Rank (JEE Main), Choices filled by candidates, Reservation & Seat Availability
• The seat allotment result will be published on the UPTAC website.

Seat Acceptance Fee:

• General/OBC Candidates: Rs. 20,000
• SC/ST Candidates: Rs. 12,000

Manual Freeze/Float Options (Rounds 1, 2 & 3)

• Freeze: Candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat and does not want an upgrade.
• Float: Candidate accepts the seat but wishes to participate in the next round for a better seat.

Auto Freeze in Round 4

• Round 4 is the final round for general counselling.
• Any seat allotted in Round 4 will be automatically frozen, meaning no further upgrades will be allowed. Candidates must report to the allotted institute after Round 4.

Physical Reporting to Allotted Institutes

• All candidates with Freeze or Auto-Freeze seats must physically report to their allotted institute after Round 4.
• Failing to report will result in cancellation of the seat.

Withdrawal Option in Rounds 2 & 3

• Candidates allotted a seat in Round 2 or 3 can withdraw if they do not wish to continue.
• A partial refund of the seat acceptance fee will be provided if withdrawal is done within the deadline.
• No withdrawal is allowed after Round 4.

Provisional Allotment Letter Download

• After confirming the seat, candidates can download the Provisional Admission Letter from the UPTAC portal.

Internal Sliding (Willingness & Sliding in Round 5)

• Candidates already admitted to an institute can opt for internal sliding within the same institute.
• This allows students to upgrade to a better branch within the same college, based on merit and availability.

Special Counselling Registration (Round 6)

• After all rounds, vacant seats will be filled through a Special Round (Round 6).
• Candidates who did not participate earlier or did not get a seat can register again for this round.
• New candidates must register and pay the counselling fee again.

Seat Allotment for Round 6

• The final round of seat allotment will be conducted based on available vacant seats.
• This is the last chance for admission in UPTAC 2025-26.

Physical Reporting for Round 6 Allottees

• Candidates who secure a seat in Round 6 must report to their allotted institute with all required documents.
• Failing to report will result in cancellation of admission.
