Uttarakhand B.Tech Counselling 2025

Uttarakhand B.Tech Counselling 2025 will be conducted by Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun for admission in engineering courses across colleges in Uttarakhand based on JEE Main/12th Grade merit. Counselling will tentatively starts from May 2025 with candidates registration on counselling conducting authority official website (https://uktech.ac.in/). There will be 3 counselling rounds for B.tech first year and B.tech second year (Lateral entry) admission. Registration for each round is mandatory, candidates are advised to do the registration before deadline. The counselling process starts with candidates registration followed by fee payment, choice filling, seat allotment and reporting to allotted institutes.

		Additional Criteria:Candidates with a domicile of Uttarakhand are eligible for admission under the Uttarakhand quota, irrespective of where they passed the qualifying examination. (Domicile Certificate required during counseling).Candidates who passed from Uttarakhand Technical Board/Universities are eligible for lateral entry but will not be entitled to any reservation.If eligible Uttarakhand candidates are unavailable, vacant seats can be filled by candidates from other states with recognized diplomas as per AICTE norms.

Counselling Registration & Choice Filling

The counseling registration process for admission in engineering colleges in Uttarakhand conducted by Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University. Here is a steps to completing the registration, application, and choice-filling process:

Step 1: Registration

• Visit the official online counseling portal and select the course of your choice. If applicable, select the 
• Lateral Entry option.
• Enter Required Details: such as Candidate’s Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email ID, Captcha code.
• Click on the Register button to receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and email.
• Enter the OTP in the respective field and click Verify.
• Upon successful verification, your login credentials will be sent via SMS and email.

Step 2: Login

• Use the User ID and Password sent to your registered mobile number and email to log in to the portal.
• Enter the captcha and click on Sign In to access your dashboard.

Step 3: Submit Application Form

• Click on the Application Form button in your dashboard.
• The basic details from registration are auto-filled and fill Personal details such as Residency/Domicile status of Uttarakhand, Nationality, Gender, Category, Sub-category, ID Proof and corresponding number (Aadhaar, Passport, or Citizenship Card). Click Save and Next.
• Provide information such as Board/Institute Name, Course Name, Specialization, Year, Roll Number, Marks, and Grade. Click Save and Next.
• Upload Documents such as Photograph (JPEG/JPG; Max 100 KB), Signature (JPEG/JPG; Max 100 KB), ID Proof (JPEG/JPG/PDF; Max 2 MB). Click Save and Next.
• Preview the application, make necessary edits if required, and click Final Submit & Proceed to Payment.
• Pay the required fee online and download the fee receipt for your records.

Step 4: Choice Filling

• After submitting the application and fee, access the Choice Filling tab on your dashboard.
• Select Institute Status (Private/Government), Institute Name, and Branch Name.
• Add multiple choices and arrange them using the arrow buttons or by entering a serial number.
• Save your preferences by clicking Save Your Choice.

Step 5: Preview & Final Submission

• Carefully review your application form and filled choices.
• Enter the captcha and click Final Submit.
• After final submission, no changes are allowed in the application or choices.
• Check the result under the View Allotment Result tab.
• You will be presented with three options based on the allotment:
• Freeze: Accept the allotted seat by paying Rs. 10,000 and complete the admission process at the institute.
• Float: Opt for participation in the next round while retaining the current allotment. A Rs. 10,000 advance fee is required.
• Withdraw: Opt-out of the current round. To participate in the next round, pay a Rs. 2,000 counseling fee.

First Year B.Tech Counselling Process

The counseling for first year B.Tech admission will be conducted online by Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand University of Technology, Dehradun. Candidates meeting the minimum eligibility qualifications for admission, as displayed in the main form, are eligible to participate.

• Candidates must register on the counseling portal and create a Login ID and Password.
• A non-refundable counseling fee of Rs. 2000 is required to complete the registration.

Choice Filling Instructions:

• During registration, candidates need to select the category/sub-category under which they wish to be considered for admission.
• Fill the admission choices in order of preference (institute/branch).
• Recommendation: Fill as many choices as possible to increase chances of seat allotment.
• Save preferences and submit them only when completely satisfied, as changes are not allowed after submission.

Seat Allocation Process:

• After seat allocation, candidates must report directly to the allotted institute within the specified time.
• Candidates are required to exercise one of the following options:
• Freeze: Accept the seat and do not participate in further rounds.
• Float: Accept the seat but remain open to upgrades in the next round.
• Withdraw: Decline the seat and exit the counseling process.

Second Year Spot Counseling Process

The spot counseling will be conducted in online mode for direct admission in 2^nd Year B.Tech courses in engineering colleges in Uttarakhand. Candidates who have previously participated in counseling can join using their existing Login ID and Password. Candidates who are participating for the first time must register on the counseling portal and create a new Login ID and Password. Eligibility is not dependent on whether a seat was previously allotted.

• All candidates must pay a Rs. 2000/- counseling fee to participate. Candidates who paid the Rs. 2000/- fee in previous counseling rounds but were not allotted any seat can participate in spot counseling without paying the fee again. Candidates who were allotted a seat in previous rounds but did not take admission must pay the Rs. 2000/- fee again to participate.
• For New Candidates registration, follow the same registration steps as in the first-year counseling to create a new account.
• For Returning Candidates, Login Credentials using existing Login ID and Password to access the portal.

Choice Filling Instructions

• All choices filled in previous counseling rounds will be deleted.
• Fill in your preferred institutes and branches in the order of preference.
• Fill as many choices as possible to enhance the chances of seat allotment.
• Submit your choices only after thorough review, as changes are not permitted post-submission.

Seat Allocation Information

• Unlike first-year counseling, Freeze, Float, and Withdraw options are not available in spot counseling.
• Upon seat allocation, pay the full admission fee directly to the allotted institute within the stipulated period.
• Unlike first-year counseling, there is no Rs. 10,000/- advance fee to be deposited on the counseling portal.

Automatic Cancellation

• If you do not appear for admission or fail to pay the full fee within the stipulated period, your seat will be automatically canceled and added to the seat matrix for the next stage of spot counseling.

Participation of Previously Admitted Candidates

• If a new seat is allotted, the previously allotted seat will be automatically canceled.
• Provide Undertaking: Before filling in choices, candidates must provide an undertaking on the counseling portal.
• Deposit the full fee at the newly allotted institute.
• Apply for a refund of the fee from the previously admitted institute directly. The university is not responsible for facilitating refunds.

Instructions for Admission in the Allotted Institute

• Original and Photocopies: Keep two photocopies and original copies of all required documents, including:
• Educational certificates and mark sheets
• Transfer Certificate (TC)
• Migration Certificate
• Character Certificate
• Proof of fee payment
• Any other required documents

• Appear at the allotted institute within the prescribed period to submit the required documents and pay the full admission fee.
